Although a 2017 Gold Cup quarter-final finish was Canadas best since 2009, new coach John Herdman was brought in to take performances to the next level. Herdman enjoyed great success with the Canada Womens team, including a 6th place finish at the 2015 World Cup. With their own World Cup qualification always a goal, the Canadian mens team can start their campaign with a good showing in the 2019 Gold Cup.
The 2019 Canada Home Jersey marks the teams debut with Nike. In traditional red with white, with a lighter graphic on the sleeves. While one logo changes, one remains the same. The sewn on Federation badge incorporates a soccer ball and the maple leaf, the official symbol of Canada for more than 300 years.
